Print your photos – Print Your Legacy {Utah Maternity and Newborn Photographer – Beka Price Photography}

As the New Year is upon us, I wanted to start off by talking about why I do what I do, and how important it is to print your photos.

Growing up, my dad always loved taking pictures and framing them. They were all over the house.
Even thou we didn’t have a lot of money, dad always made sure we had a roll or two of film to snap some pictures of us at special times: birthdays, vacation, road trips, baby blessings, school pictures…..
For years, on Sundays afternoon we would go through a huge storage box we had (my parents still have that box) full of albums and small prints. Looking through all of them even if for the millionth time, it just never got old for us.
We loved seeing how we had changed, how tiny we were as babies and how big we grew; graduation pics and birthday parties, the houses we had lived in, and remember of vacations and trips we took as a family.
We made memories, sweet fun memories that if it wasn’t printed, I would have forgotten. My dad took the time to captured those memories on camera too so we could remember later.
It kind of fell special to see a picture of me on a pretty frame. Still to this day, my dad is obsessed with frames. Everywhere he goes he buys frames and quickly after he will find a picture to fit in it.

First, let me show you some of those childhood pictures (my dad scanned these and sent me so I can also have them digitally saved on my computer):

Not sure on why/how my bangs look like that.. lol

I always wanted to do the same for my home.

For the longest time our living room was just a combination of empty walls, old and dark furniture, an unpleasant spot to hangout. Last year I was determined to change that! Our living room should be a nice place for us to gather, and is now where we spend most of our time as a family, besides the kitchen for obvious reasons haha.

Our living room is also my work space. I like working where I can be close to the girls and always keep an eye on them. They see me working and they know that I’m doing something for myself and am being productive.
So we had these plans for the longest time to make it a nice cozy and pretty space, where we actually WANTED to be in. It took forever to make it happen but it is finally done.
Everyday as I walk into this space I am reminded of WHAT MATTERS THE MOST. My family! Because it is plastered on all the walls it also reminds me why I do what I do. They are important to me so they should have a place where we can see it everyday and never forget.

Memories shouldn’t be hidden in a drawer or in a device where you may never be able to access them again.

PRINT YOUR PHOTOS!!! this is so so important.

And I’ll let you in a little secret.

(here comes my little study..haha)

I have noticed that kids who see their pictures on the wall or around the house in any way or form will also feel more comfortable during photo sessions. WHY? Because they know the images will get printed and they get excited to see their little faces in a big frame.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have happy and well behaved children during family pics just by the fact that they genuinely want to see their picture hanging around the house? You heard me right. It’s like MAGIC!!!!!

Okya, so back to my living room….

So I started my journey on making our living room the prettiest spot in the house. (other spots are cute too, but considering this is where I spend most of my time while at home, I had to focus on one spot at a time)

Our living room is faaaaaarrr from being a Pinterest inspiration, or a famous social media influencer blogger of any kind…. but, you guys, this is my work, my sweat and blood put into decorating this space and it feels SO GOOD to see it all together and how I imagined.

Now, you might think that all this talk on PRINT YOUR PHOTOS it only matters to me because I’m a photographer. It is not. And that’s why I wanted to tell you about my childhood. It really is something very close to my heart.

But if you need any more prove, there is a study done by the Tulane University in Tennessee revealed how personal and family photographs can boost children’s self-esteem.
“I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.”

Being a full service studio, I am focused on providing exclusive and one-of-a-kind heirloom products to my clients, I do a deep and extensive research to only offer them the very best possible, and products that will last decades.

When we start planning a session, one of the questions I ask every single client is

“How do you want to display the images we create together?”

The answer to this question sets the tone to how, when, where, what our session will look like.

Creating stunning images are just as important to me as putting together beautiful and unique ways to display those images, and to cherish them for generations yet to come.

I believe YOUR legacy should be printed and always a reminder of the love and miracle in your life. This is WHY I do what I do. Because it’s important to me and my family, I know it is important to you as well.

When I think of the many CD’s stored way in a drawer, or clouds full of images that you don’t even remember they are there, or computers that crash and the many tears shed because you will never be able to recover those pictures….. My heart sinks at the thought that your walls are bare and your children are not seeing where they came from or where they belong, or just how important they are.

“That CD looks so good on your wall.” –– said no one ever.

Let me help you create memories that you are very proud of displaying in your home. Let’s design together your beautiful wall gallery and albums that you can show your grandchildren what life looked like way before they were born.
