I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was for Baby Hamilton to arrive!! He’s the third baby for this family that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. I have to tell you, the Bowen family has some pretty cute baby boys! They’re always adorable, the cutest little chunky babies, and they have the best facial expressions. It was seriously great to see this family again. I just loved capturing this classic newborn session for Hamilton!!!

Classic Newborn Session

When I was talking with the Bowen family about newborn portraits for Hamilton, we kept gravitating to a really classic setup and color scheme. We stuck with dark navy blues, creams, and tans for the majority of the session. Hamilton was a dream and slept through a lot of the family portraits. Once he knew all the attention was on him, he stayed wide awake. I just love his little expressions in some of the portraits of him alone! By the end of the session, he managed to fall back asleep and I was able to get him to curl up so sweetly in the last setup. How precious is he?! I also personally love the shot of him with his big brothers. I think they like him quite a lot, too!!

Custom newborn portraits are about more than just taking a few portraits of your baby when they’re born. They’re about capturing how tiny your little one is now – because they’ll never be that little again. I know today, it’s easy to say “we’ll take photos on our phone”. But what about you and your little one? Who takes those? Those early weeks are about survival, and most of us don’t have the energy to capture photos on our own. Before we know it, time has flown by. Trust me when I say, these portraits are worth the investment!
